Mission
The 73d Ordnance Battalion leads, trains, develops, and educates, select 89 and 94 series Soldiers during initial entry training across multiple geographical locations into adaptive Professional Ordnance Soldiers who will directly build and maintain Army Readiness.
73d Battalion Unit Crest
A gold shield blazoned with three blue swords pointing skyward symbolizing victory. The three swords represent courage, ingenuity, and perseverance. Below the shield, a blue scroll inscribed with the motto "AD ALTA" in gold letters meaning " To The Heights". Blue is for honor and gold is for courage.
Cobra Soldier
The 73d OD BN seeks to continuously develop Soldier Leaders utilizing processes and procedures in support of the Ordnance Corps' mission to provide the Operating Force with ready, resilient, and lethal professionals prepared for the rigors of combat. This is accomplished through:
- Focused Leader Development initiatives
- Emphasis on total Soldier Care (physical, mental, spiritual, administrative)
- Aggressive training schedules structured around Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills, Field Exercises, and Physical Readiness training
What this creates is a disciplined and lethal Professional Ordnance Leader prepared to sustain the Warfighter in Large Scale Ground Combat, and beyond.
