Mrs. Sarah W. Clements

Mrs. Sarah W. ClementsSarah W. Clements was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on March 11, 1911 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1936.

She worked for various government agencies, and in 1956 became a Programming Officer with the Office Chief of Ordnance. This relationship lasted twenty-five years and was marked by her consistently outstanding performance. She became a leader in the analysis and review of tremendously complex weapon systems. She continued to blaze new trails for women, as she became the first female to be promoted into the Senior Executive Service in 1975.

She capped a career of unparalleled government service by serving as the Deputy for Materiel Acquisition Management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army. Sarah Clements is truly an Ordnance heroine.
