Chief
Warrant Officer Harrison E. Robinson was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1927 and entered the Army as an
inductee in 1946.
He rose to the rank of master sergeant in 7 years and served as battalĀ¬ion maintenance sergeant in several units and as noncommissioned officer in charge of heavy equipment and wheel vehicles for the 782d Maintenance Battalion of the 82d Airborne Division.
In 1951, he was appointed a Warrant Officer, and for 10 years served as maintenance officer with a number of units in the United States, Europe, Korea, and Vietnam, including the 82d and 101st Airborne Divisions.
Upon his retirement in 1978, Mr. Robinson was described by one former supervisor as the most outstanding Warrant Officer with whom that officer had served during a thirty-year career. "Had he been a commissioned officer," this former supervisor continued, "Mr. Robinson would have achieved General Officer rank." Mr. Robinson died in 1978.
