Chief Warrant Officer Five Robert C. Tadlock was born on May 11, 1949 in Harrisburg, Virginia, and he began his 41-year Army National Guard career when he enlisted in 1969. He culminated his Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) career when he was appointed the 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment Maintenance NCO in 1985.
CW5 Tadlock began his Warrant Officer career as a battalion maintenance technician with 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment in 1987 followed by an assignment to the 148th Support Battalion and a deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina in support of the NATO Stabilization Force in December 2000.
In 2001, CW5 Tadlock became the support staff maintenance technician for the 148th Support Battalion in support of the 48th Brigade Combat Team (BCT). During this time, he deployed to Iraq in 2005 as the Senior Staff Maintenance Technician Advisor for the brigade, in which he maintained operational readiness rates above 90% throughout his combat tour.
CW5 Tadlock culminated his career as the Assistant S-4 for the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in 2007, in which he was a key member on all S-4 issues and the reset program on all stay-behind equipment for the state of Georgia.
Throughout his career, CW5 Tadlock has provided only the highest level of professionalism through eighteen National Training Center rotations, three Joint Readiness Training Center rotations, a REFORGER mission, and a training assist visit to the Republic of Georgia to train a Georgian brigade on maintenance operations. In 2011, following retirement, the State of Georgia dedicated the vehicle maintenance facility of the Albany National Guard Armory to Chief Warrant Officer Five Robert Tadlock for his outstanding leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the maintenance community.
