Sultan A. Muhammad

Command Sergeant Major Sultan A. MuhammadCommand Sergeant Major Sultan A. Muhammad is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He completed Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey and Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Following a career of ever increasing responsibility and leadership, including assignments as a Platoon Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, and First Sergeant, he attended the Army’s Sergeant Major Academy in 2003. Following his schooling, he was assigned as the Command Sergeant Major for the 129th Corps Support Battalion at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; the Command Sergeant Major for the 507th Corps Support Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and the Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

In 2010, Command Sergeant Major Muhammad was selected to be the 10th Regimental Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps. He served as the principal advisor to the Chief of Ordnance on all matters regarding the health, welfare, and training of Ordnance Soldiers throughout the Army. His dedication to improving the Noncommissioned Officer System were critical by reducing the attendance backlog for the Advanced Leadership Course and the Senior Leadership Course, and campaigning to introduce relevant and realistic training into the Program of Instruction for these courses.

Following his tenure as the 10th Regimental Command Sergeant Major, he was selected to be the Command Sergeant Major for the Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia in 2012. In this role, he was the principal advisor to the Lieutenant General Director on all matters affecting the joint warfighter for the nation’s largest combat support agency.

Command Sergeant Major Muhammad retired in 2015.
