Command Sergeant Major Victor M. Blade

Command Sergeant Major Victor M. BladeCommand Sergeant Major Victor M. Blade was born on July 19th, 1962 and began his 31-year career in the U.S. Army when he enlisted in 1981. In his career of ever-increasing leadership and responsibility, including participation in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served as Station Commander, for the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the First Sergeant for Company ‘C’, 123rd Main Support Battalion in Germany; and First Sergeant for the U.S. Army Missile and Munitions Center and School’s Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

Following his assignment as the Sergeant Major for the Operations (G3) staff for the 3rd Corps Support Command, CSM Blade served his first Command Sergeant Major tour for the 485th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion during its deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2007, CSM Blade became the Command Sergeant Major for the Division Support Command for the 1st Armored Division.

In 2008, CSM Blade culminated his career as the Commandant of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at the U.S. Army Ordnance Munitions and Electronic Maintenance Center and School. He led the training and professional development of over 2000 students attending the Senior Leader Courses and Advance Leader Courses. During his tenure, the Academy received seven best practices awards and a Fully Accredited rating by the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command inspection team. He executed the smooth transition of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy from Redstone Arsenal, Alabama to Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, as part of the 2005 Base Closure and Realignment Commission decision.

Command Sergeant Victor M. Blade retired in 2012.
