CW5 Frederick J. Cazzola

CW5 Frederick J. CazzolaCW5 Fred Cazzola joined the United States Army Reserve in May 1970, taking Basic Training at Ft Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual Training at Redstone Arsenal as an Ammunition Specialist, 55B10, and was assigned to the 395th Ordnance Company.

In 1983, then SSG Cazzola was selected and appointed as a Warrant Officer One and assigned to 2nd Ammunition Platoon. Because of his exemplary performance of duties, he was selected for the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program in 1992. After reviewing CW3 Cazzola’s resume, his career advisor encouraged him to stay in the AGR program but to reclassify as a 915A, which he agreed to do. During a rotation to the National Training Center, Cazzola was called upon to perform duties as the Battalion S-4 while continuing to perform his duties as the Battalion Maintenance Technician and overseeing the Ammunition Operations as well.

From 1995-2002 CW5 Cazzola to Regional Training Site – Maintenance as both the Support Maintenance Technician and the Ammunition Technician. In spite of filling two key billets he also took on the added responsibility as the Property Book/Accountability Officer as well as the Facility Manager.

After a tour with the 521st Maintenance Battalion as the Support Maintenance Technician, CW5 Cazzola accepted a position at the 81st Regional Support Command in Birmingham, Alabama. Here he performed duties as the Rebuild Coordinator/Integrated Sustainment Manager for multiple United States Army Reserve Command Rebuild Programs. He supervised monthly Army Materiel Status System Reports which far surpassed Department of the Army standards.

CW5 Cazzola retired in February 2007.
