COL Charles C. Gibson

COL Charles C. GibsonColonel Charles P. Gibson was born on 17 November, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland. Colonel Gibson graduated from Bowie State University with a BS in Mathematics. Upon graduation, Colonel Gibson commissioned into the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps. He later earned his Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in 2009.

Over his 28 year career, Colonel Charles “Chuck” C. Gibson has distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious service in a succession of positions of great importance and responsibility to the Army and the Nation, culminating as the Chief of Staff, Communications-Electronics Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. His previous positions of significant leadership include Support Operations Officer, HHC, 45th Corps Support Group, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Deputy Director ILS, United States Army Evaluation Center, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Battalion Commander, HHC, 225th Brigade Support Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Assistant Chief of Staff G4, HHC Division, 25th Sustainment Troop Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barrack, Hawaii, and Commander Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.

As the Commander for the Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania from 13 July 2009 to 13 July 2012, Colonel Gibson was responsible for mid-level maintenance and logistical support for Joint Department of Defense C4SIR Systems. He led and directed the operations of 5,500 DA Civilians, Soldiers and Contractors in sixteen directorates with a $1 billion operating budget. His depot achieved a positive net operating result of $27.1M, primarily driven by a $16.8M reduction in non-labor overhead expenses, increased direct labor hour execution, lean savings and efficiencies achieved through his lean program which earned his unit another SHINGO Silver Medallion.

Colonel Gibson culminated his military career as the Chief of Staff, Communications- Electronics Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland from 19 July 2012 to 30 June 2015. As the principal Staff Officer and advisor to the Commanding General he was responsible for a diverse level command comprised of over 10,000 military and civilian personnel globally stationed in 31 states and 27 countries.

COL Gibson retired in 2015.
