CW5 Charlie R. Parker

CW5 Charlie R. ParkerChief Warrant Officer Five Charlie R. Parker was born October 1947 in Hertford, North Carolina. He began his military career in March 1967 as an enlisted soldier where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant while serving as a Motor Sergeant in the 1st Battalion (ABN) 325th Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

He began the Warrant Officer chapter of his career in 1980 and was assigned as the Battalion Maintenance Technician in the 123rd Maintenance Direct Support Battalion in Bamberg, Germany. From there he bounced back and forth from Fort Bragg to Germany before he finally landed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds to serve as the Chief of the Unit Maintenance Office. In July 1994, during the reorganization and relocation of the Directorate of Combat Development - Ordnance, he was assigned to U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. He worked in the Tank Auto- motive & Arms Division as the Ground Maintenance Team Chief. While serving in that position he lead a team to modernization of the General Mechanize Tool Boxes, Armament Tool Kit, Digitization of Army’s Technical Manuals. He was instrumental in revising the Army’s Preventive Maintenance Checks and Service (PMCS) Technical Manuals for -10/-20 PMCS Checklist. He also served as the Senior Evaluator for The Army Award for Maintenance Excellence Team during that time, he traveled around the world evaluating the best Army Maintenance and Supply Units nominated in each category.

Throughout his career, CW5 Parker was able to impart his expertise for maintenance across the Army by serving on multiple committees tasked with reviewing and updating Army Regulation. He has also published many articles in Ordnance Magazine as well as PS Magazine.

CW5 Charlie Parker enjoyed an exceptional career that spanned over forty years culminating as Evaluator and Senior logistics Officer, Information Technology Evaluation Directorate, United States Army Evaluation Center, Alexandria, Virginia. CW5 Parker's leadership and unsurpassed technical competence ensured today's Warfighters would have the best equipment they needed to fight and win the Global War on Terrorism.

CW5 Parker retired May 30th, 2007.
