MG Clark W LeMasters Jr. began his career as an Ordnance Missile Materiel Officer in 1985 completing the Basic Officer Course at Redstone Arsenal, AL. He served over the next 24 years in the United States, Europe and Middle East in assignments within Heavy Division Support Commands, Army Materiel Command, Training and Doctrine Command, U.S Central Command and the Pentagon. Holding many key Command and Staff positions expanding his knowledge and expertise in supporting our Maneuver forces across the critical Ordnance functions of maintenance and ammunition, expanding to multifunctional Logistics supporting our Army through the rank of Colonel.
MG LeMasters‘ key general officer assignments include serving as the Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the United States Army Ordnance School, and the CASCOM Deputy Commanding General for Capabilities, Development and Integration (CDI). As the Commandant, he was responsible for the training of over 35,000 IMT Solders for the operating force. He was also instrumental in the 2010 transition of the Home of Ordnance from Aberdeen Proving Grounds in to Fort Gregg-Adams where it resides today. This complex operation included the construction of numerous state-of-the-art training and support facilities as well as the relocation of two subordinate schools and the conversion of two brigades into one.
MG LeMasters also played a pivotal role in transitioning selected Ordnance School courses to Skills Based Training (SBT). This was a shift from the system specific training to teaching and training Soldiers on theory, concepts, and practical application of these theories and concepts. The shift resulted in better training for soldiers in the fundamental skills they needed to excel in their work.
After serving at the Ordnance School, MG LeMasters served as the Commanding General of the 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Ft Hood, TX; G-3/4 Army Materiel Command, Redstone Arsenal AL.
MG LeMasters final assignment was the Commanding General, United States Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command / Life Cycle Management Command, Detroit, MI. He retired in October 2018.
MG LeMasters awards include the Defense Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Legion of Merit with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters.
