CSM Edward C. Morris distinguished himself through exceptionally meritorious conduct, outstanding achievements, and unwavering commitment in the performance of his duties.
His tenure as the United States Army Ordnance Regimental Command Sergeant Major from November 2014 to March 2017, elevated and strengthened the Corps through his senior enlisted advisement to three Chiefs of Ordnance and three Brigade Commanders.
His direct leadership saw the execution of the Ordnance Corps credentialing program. The 11 credentialing programs across AIT and Ordnance Professional Military Education (PME) courses include 17 MOS’s and three Warrant Officer Specialties. Approximately 7,866 Soldiers, NCOs, and Warrant Officers, the most of any TRADOC school, were credentialed across the Ordnance School.
CSM Morris provided subject matter expertise in the coordination and planning of the first ever United States Army Ordnance Crucible competition. He continually developed and implemented NCO professional development programs to elevate the character, mission readiness, and performance of our OD Soldiers. During his three years of mentorship the 59th OD Brigade and the Ordnance Regiment inducted 30 NCOs into the revered Audie Murphy Club. CSM Morris also shared his expertise and provided mentorship to Advanced and Senior Leader Courses, Pre-command Course, and the Sergeant Major Branch at HRC.
CSM Morris’ awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
CSM Morris retired in April 2018 following his final assignment with Joint Task Force 51, United States Army North, Joint Base San Antonio, TX as the Joint Task Force Sergeant Major supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) forward disaster response command during Hurricane Relief Efforts.
