CW5 Anthony Brace

CW5 Anthony BraceCW5 Anthony Brace joined the United States Army in October 1970 as an Engineer Equipment Repair Specialist with the 264th Engineer Group. He was appointed an Army Warrant Officer in 1980 and transitioned to the Army Reserve with a duty assignment in the 19th Corps Materiel Management Center (MMC).

In 1995, CW5 Brace entered the Army Guard Reserve program (AGR) as the key maintenance representative for two Patriot Warrior exercises, which included coordinating and inspecting all equipment to and from designated Equipment Concentration Sites. During that time CW5 Brace also served as the G-4 coordinator for Operation Platinum Wrench.

CW5 Brace was also the Senior Reserve Component Maintenance Trainer at the National Training Center (NTC) and Fort Irwin from 1998 to 2004 where he was responsible for the training of ten Reserve Component maintenance companies (DS / GS) per year. Some of his other notable assignments include Senior Maintenance Technician, USARC G-4; Senior Maintenance Technician, 103rd Expeditionary Support Command; and culminated his career as Chief Warrant Officer.

CW5 Brace’s career focused on promoting Ordnance Soldier professional technical proficiency across the force the critical importance of constant diligence to build and maintain readiness.

Chief Brace’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with two service stars, Global War on Terrorism, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with gold and bronze hourglass and 1 M device, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Army Superior Unit Award, and the Order of the Samuel Sharp Award.

Chief Brace retired in September 2011 with 41 years of combined service in the Army National Guard, Army Reserves and the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) Program.
