CW5 David Cassity

CW5 David CassityCW5 Cassity entered active duty in February 1989 as a 39C Target Acquisition/Surveillance Radar Repairman. In April 1997, he was appointed a Warrant Officer.

During those 22-years as a Warrant Officer, he served with a multitude of commands; to include the 44th Air Defense Artillery with the 101st Airborne Division, 2d Forward Support Battalion with the 2d Infantry Division in Korea, Division Material Management Center with the 101st Airborne Division, 101st Sustainment Brigade with a deployment to Iraq, the 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade in Korea, and as the Brigade Logistics Support Team Chief with the 101st Logistics Support Element which deployed to Afghanistan.

In 2012, CW5 Cassity served as the Warrant Officer Proponent Action Officer in the Personnel Development Office for the Chief of Ordnance, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. He was a key ingredient in expanding the Ordnance Warrant Officer Training with Industry (TWI) opportunities for MOSs 948 Electronic Systems and Missile Systems Maintenance Warrant Officers and the 890 Ammunition Warrant Officer.

CW5 Cassity’s final assignment was as the Senior Executive Technical Advisor to the Program Executive Officer - Missiles and Space, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama to include working as a Logistics and AMD Senior Analyst assigned to Project Office Integrated Fires Mission Command. During this assignment, through effective communication across all echelons of multiple programs, corroborated by over 100 days deployed to program test and development venues, he persuasively engaged and negotiated with multiple Army and ASA(ALT) stakeholders to create and establish permanent W5 positions at five PEOs.

His awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal - 6, Army Commendation Medal - 8, Army Achievement Medal – 5, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal - 2, National Defense Service Medal - 3,Southwest Asia Service Medal – 2, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal -2, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon - 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon – 5, NATO Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Government of Kuwait),,Air Assault Badge, and Driver Badge.

In 2019, CW5 Cassity retired from active duty after 30 years of active service. Mr. Cassity continues supporting the Army and the Ordnance Corps as the Logistics and Air/Missile Defense (AMD) Senior Analyst assigned to PO-IFMC. PO-IFMC as the C2 PO assigned to PEO MS, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama that will modernize the Army’s 15 Legacy Patriot Battalions C2 to ensure capability overmatch to our Air and Missile threats for decades to come.
