CSM Rodger Mansker enlisted in the United States Army in December 1985. This was the start of his enduring contributions to the Nation and the Army during his more than 34 years of service.
Some of his most notable positions include the Command Sergeant Major of the 402d Army Field Support Brigade, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait where his leadership, commitment to excellence and mission focus were critical organizational elements that enabled the Brigades timely and effective retrograde of equipment, supplies and materiel from Iraq. This allowed the Army to reset equipment for the future, re-posture equipment and supplies in Army pre-positioned Stocks in the CENTCOM Theater of Operations, and divest equipment no longer economical to maintain and retain.
CSM of the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, JBLM, WA where his leadership, sustainment expertise and commitment to provide unwavering support to our Warfighters were crucial to his Brigade accomplishing its mission as Army Material Command (AMC) “Face to the Field”.
CSM of the Army Security Assistance Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL where he reinvigorated the certification and standards for the technical and tactical training, cultural education and communication skills required of the USASAC training assistance teams which directly improved the quality of the assistance teams, making significant contributions toward the Command's mission of building partner capacity and being the Army's Face to the World.
SGM to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 Headquarters for the Department of the Army assisting in the development of policies and procedures that enabled the operating force to draw-down equipment from Afghanistan, divest of excess equipment, improve property accountability across the Army, and field Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A).
CSM Mansker’s career culminated as the 16th CSM of AMC, Redstone Arsenal, AL. As CSM, he supported the Commanding General in the execution of sustainment responsibilities for more than 187,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel located in 50 states and 152 countries.
CSM Mansker’s awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Order of Samuel Sharpe, and the Field Artillery Order of Saint Barbara.
CSM Mansker retired from active duty in November of 2020 and currently serves as a Highly Qualified Expert and Program Manager for “This Is My Squad” for the Sergeant Major of the Army.
