Mrs. Rhonda VanDeCasteele began her rise to the Senior Executive Service through successive positions of increasing scope and responsibility.
While assigned as the Joint Munitions Command Deputy Chief of Staff for Resource Management she was directly responsible in the JMC Resource Management team receiving the Army Manpower and Force Management Excellence Award and the Resource Management Organization of the Year Award. In addition, she also received the Army Fiscal Year 2010 Comptroller/Deputy Comptroller of the Year and Capstone Awards.
After years of outstanding work ethic, demonstrated leadership potential and personal success she was selected for the senior executive service and appointed as the Executive Director for Ammunition where she was able to provide some of her greatest contributions to the JMC.
Between 2015 and 2018, she oversaw the execution of approximately $4 billion annually of ammunition funding across multiple appropriations which enabled the ammunition readiness of the Joint Warfighter. Under her superior command direction, the JMC managed a $59 billion munitions stockpile and distributed 350,000 short tons of ammunition annually for contingency operations and training for the Department of the Army and DoD.
Mrs. VanDeCasteele’s awards include the Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award (2008), Department of the Army Superior Civilian Service Award (2012), Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award (2014), and Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Award (2018).
Mrs. VanDeCasteele retired in 2018 after 34 years of service.
