CSM (R) Scott M. Weimer

Command Sergeant Major (R) Scott M. WeimerCSM (R) Scott M. Weimer is a highly decorated and accomplished military leader who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the Ordnance Corps. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Weimer has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to the welfare of soldiers, civilians, and their families.

As the Command Sergeant Major of the 242d Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Weimer provided guidance and recommendations to the Commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted personnel and their families. Under his leadership, the battalion executed over 1,000 on-post and 250 off-post emergency response missions, as well as 145 VIPPSA missions in support of federal agencies. Weimer's leadership and mentorship ensured that personnel readiness indicators and metrics remained above Department of the Army requirements.

As Director of the Very Important Persons Protective Activity (VIPPSA), Weimer displayed exceptional leadership and competence within the Department of Defense. He seamlessly coordinated the Joint EOD force, providing security for high-risk visiting Heads of State, the President and First Family, and the White House Complex. Weimer supervised and executed the logistical tasking of over 660 EOD service members, providing 24/7 support to the White House, Camp David, and the Naval Observatory.

From 1993 to 1997 COL Bacino served as the Iowa Army National Guard Deputy Chief of Staff (G3) and the Brigade level 67th Troop Commander. He commanded 6 Battalions and 4500 Soldiers. In the National Guard this is called a dual assignment and is only given to highly qualified senior officers.

CSM Weimer's experience in Special Operations is equally impressive. He was hand-selected by the DCG of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to develop a Special Operations EOD capability to support the 75th Ranger Regiment. He created, manned, trained, and equipped the first Airborne EOD Company in the US Army's history, capable of supporting elite light infantry in the worst possible conditions. Weimer's work in Special Operations fundamentally transformed how conventional EOD forces support Special Operations Forces (SOF), identifying disparities in equipping and training that led to doctrinal changes and improvements in Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).

Throughout his career, Weimer has demonstrated exceptional technical acumen, understanding of budget execution, and experience with unique SOF/OGA programs. His expertise is continually sought after from every echelon of both the EOD and SOF fields, and his contributions have had a lasting impact on the Ordnance Corps and the Department of Defense. Weimer's dedication to the welfare of soldiers, civilians, and their families, as well as his commitment to the principles of the Ordnance Corps mission, make him an exemplary military leader and a true asset to the United States Army.
