Edward M. Daly

Colonel Edward M. DalyCol. Edward M. Daly was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps upon his graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1987. Upon graduating from the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, he was assigned to the 189th Maintenance Battalion, 1st Corps Support Command, XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Highlights of his tour at Fort Bragg included: participation in Operation Desert Shield/Storm as the Shop Officer in the 659th Maintenance Company; Platoon Leader; Battalion Maintenance Officer; and Class IX Accountable Officer.

After graduating from the Transportation Officer Advanced Course in 1992, Col. Daly served in 3d Infantry Division as the Deputy Support Operations Officer for the Division Support Command. He commanded the 147th Maintenance Company in Kitzingen, Germany (1993-1995). Upon completion of Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth in 1999, Col. Daly was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. While assigned to the First Team, he served as a Support Operations Officer, Division Materiel Management Center Chief, Brigade Executive Officer, and Division G-4.

After commanding the 702d Main Support Battalion, 2d Infantry Division, Col. Daly served as the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) CJ4 in Afghanistan (2005-6) and later as the Chief of Staff (Forward), NATO Training Mission - Iraq (NTM-I) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Col. Daly then assumed command of the 43rd Sustainment Brigade at Fort Carson in 2008; the 43rd SBDE HQ deployed to Afghanistan (2010-2011) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Over the past year, Col. Daly served as the Executive Officer to the Army G4.

Col. Daly holds a B.S. in Engineering from West Point, a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University, and a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
