Michael B. Lalor

Brigadier General Michael B. LalorBrigadier General Michael B. Lalor was commissioned into the United States Army through the ROTC program at the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania, in May 1995. Entering military service from his hometown of Goshen, New York, Brigadier General Lalor has served throughout the U.S. Army in a variety of troop leadership and staff assignments.

Brigadier General Lalor has served as the Chief of Ordnance and Commandant, U.S. Army Ordnance School since July 2021. Prior to taking command of the Ordnance School, Brigadier General Lalor led the Army Medical Logistics Command from its activation in September 2019 to July 2021. In August 2020, he took on the role of Executive Director for the Enterprise Business Systems, Multi-Functional Capabilities Team (EBS-MFCT), driving the Army's EBS-Convergence modernization mission. He continues to lead the EBS-MFCT as the 43rd Chief of Ordnance.

During his career, Brigadier General Lalor commanded formations at the company, battalion, and brigade level in Afghanistan: as Company Commander, Headquarters and A Company, 210th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd BCT, 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York, and Operation Enduring Freedom (2003); Battalion Commander, 710th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd BCT, 10th Mountain Division (LI), Fort Drum, New York, and Task Force Spartan, Operation Enduring Freedom (2013- 2014); and Brigade Commander, 1st Armored Division Resolute Support Sustainment Brigade, Operation Freedom's Sentinel and Operation Resolute Support (2017).

He also deployed as an M1A1 Tank Platoon Leader with 1st Battalion, 37th Armor, 1st BCT, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany and Operation Joint Endeavor, Bosnia and Herzegovina (1996) and as a Division Logistics Planner with the 10th Mountain Division (LI), Multi-National Division Center and South, Operation Iraqi Freedom (2008-2009). Other notable assignments include Executive Officer to the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Headquarters, Department of the Army, Washington, D.C. (2010-2012); Brigade Commander, 3rd BCT / Task Force Spartan, 10th Mountain Division (2014-2015), leading the brigade through its inactivation; and Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Sustainment, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C (2018-2019).

Brigadier General Lalor completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Scranton. He has earned master's degrees from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; the School of Advanced Military Studies, Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; and the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Brigadier General Lalor's awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Bronze Star Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Meritorious Service Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), NATO Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Parachute Rigger Badge.
