Major General Mitchell StevensonLieutenant General Mitchell H. Stevenson was born in Linz, Austria, the son of a career Army NCO. He was a Distinguished Military Graduate and was commissioned a Regular Army Ordnance Officer from the ROTC program at West Virginia University in May 1974. After serving initially as an Infantry Officer, he was inducted into the U. S. Army Ordnance Corps in March 1976. His previous commands include command of the Heavy Maintenance Company, 701st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; Forward Support Maintenance Company, 122d Maintenance Battalion, Germany; 724th Main Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA (and in combat during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm); Division Support Command, 3d Infantry Division, Germany; Commanding General, U.S. Army Ordnance Center and Schools, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; and Commanding General, U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Gregg-Adams, VA.

LTG Stevenson's other assignments include Executive Officer to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command, Warren, MI; Support Operations Officer, 703d Support Battalion, Germany; Division Materiel Management Officer, 3d Infantry Division, Germany; Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Washington D.C.; Director, Plans and Operations, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Washington D.C.: Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (COO), U.S. Army Materiel Command, Fort Belvoir, VA; and after over 37 years of service, culminating as the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, Department of the Army, Washington, D.C..

He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ordnance Officer Advanced Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. General Stevenson holds a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from West Virginia University. His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Legion of Merit with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal and Southwest Asia Service Medal with three stars. He has also been awarded the Expert Infantryman's Badge.

Lieutenant General has retired
