Colonel Mike Post enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1990 as an Infantryman (11B). In 1997, he graduated from Saint Cloud State University (SCCU) and earned his commission in the Army Ordnance Corps. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from SCSU, a Master of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University (2011), and a second from Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (2019).

Colonel Post’s command assignments include Delta Company, 4th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas and Iraq; 101st BSB, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas and in the Republic of Korea; and 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Colonel Post’s key staff assignments include Battalion S3 with 4th BSB, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and Iraq; Brigade S4 for 2d Brigade Combat Team, Support Operations Officer (SPO) and Executive Officer / Provisional Battalion Commander of the 526th BSB, 2BCT, 101st Air Assault Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Afghanistan; Distribution Integration Branch Chief, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Chief, Military Service Support Division and Chief, Agency Synchronization Operations Center, Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Operation Warp Speed / Countermeasures Acceleration Group where he supported the acceleration of the testing, supply, development, and distribution of a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine for the American public; Corps G4, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; and currently serving as the Chief of Staff, Army Ordnance Corps, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.

Major deployment history includes Operation Joint Forge SFOR5, Bosnia-Herzegovina (1999); Operation Iraqi Freedom I (OIF) (2003-2004); OIF-4 (2005-2006); Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11; 3d Korean Rotational Force, an Armored Brigade Combat Team to the Republic of Korea (2016-2017); and a no-notice deployment to the Africa Command Area of Responsibility for Operation Oaken Soundstage (2023).

Colonel Post’s awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal; Legion of Merit (1 OLC); Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC); Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC); Joint Service Commendation Medal; Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC); Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC); Presidential Unit Citation; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Valorous Unit Award; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Combat Action Badge; and Airborne and Air Assault Badges.

Colonel Post is married and has three children (two sons and one daughter).
