Chief Warrant Officer Five Kent H. Shepherd III is a native of Belmont, NH. He enlisted in the Army in 1996 as a 63T Bradley Fighting Vehicle mechanic, and crossed over in 2003 to become a 915A, Automotive Maintenance Warrant Officer.

CW5 Shepherd’s most recent assignment was as the G4 Senior Ordnance Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, in Vicenza, Italy. His previous assignments include: Senior Ordnance Maintenance Warrant Officer in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) G-4, Fort Campbell, KY; Senior Ordnance Logistics Officer in the Directorate of Assessments and Prevention of the U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center, Fort Novosel, AL; Senior Maintenance Warrant Officer in 25th Sustainment Brigade, Schofield Barracks, HI; Senior Maintenance Officer in 3d Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI; Maintenance Warrant Officer in 3-321 Field Artillery Regiment, 18th Fires Brigade, Fort Liberty, NC; Senior Maintenance Officer in 20th Engineer Brigade, Fort Liberty, NC; Maintenance Warrant Officer in 57th Transportation Company, Fort Drum, NY; Senior Maintenance Officer, 1st Brigade Combat Team, Fort Drum, NY; Maintenance Warrant Officer 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, Fort Drum, NY; and Maintenance Warrant Officer in 12th Chemical Company, 701st Main Support Battalion, 1st Infantry Division in Kitzingen, Germany.

He has multiple deployments to include Kosovo (1999-2000), Forward Operating Base Speicher, Tikrit, Iraq (2004-2005), Forward Operating Base Warrior, Kirkuk, Iraq (2007-2008), and Joint Base Balad, Iraq (2011).

His military education includes all levels of Warrant Officer Professional Education. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts / Management from Excelsior University and a Master of Arts in Theology and Church History from the Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University.

CW5 Shepherd’s awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (9 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (2 Bronze Knots), the National Defense Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Stars), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Non-Commission Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 2), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 7), and the NATO medal. He was also recognized with the Demonstrated Master Logistician certification, the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe, and the LTG Levin Hicks Campbell Distinguished Award of Merit.

CW5 Shepherd is married to the former Mary Hussey from Laconia, NH.
