Mission / Contacts

Oversees and coordinates operational, administrative, and logistical support of institutional training in the ODS.

About

The OTDD is the source of all Ordnance Training Products
Except Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and products developed during the System Training Plan (STRAP) process

The Division is responsible conducting Critical Task Selection Boards and for development of the following products for Ordnance MOS's:

  • Course Administrative Data (CAD)
  • Course Management Plan (CMP)
  • Course Map
  • Critical Tasks
  • Distributed Learning (DL)
  • Individual Critical Task List (ICTL)
  • Individual Student Assessment Plan (ISAP)
  • Individual Training Plan (ITP)
  • Lesson Plan (LP)
  • Program of Instruction (POI)
  • Training Support Package (TSP)
  • Soldier Training Publication (STP)

Functions

  • Develop and revise sustainment individual training products and strategies for all Army components (active and reserve) on behalf of the Ordnance Corps.
  • Coordinate training development priorities with the ODS.
  • Develop and field all training development products IWA TR 350-70 and CASCOM policy.
  • Develop training strategies to optimize training productivity and effectiveness. Coordinate with the Training Technology Division (TTD) to ensure effective use of learning technologies in support of training strategies.
  • Provide developed training materials to respective institutions for review and validation of content and subject matter.
  • Conduct periodic in process reviews (IPR) with Active and Reserve training institutions to review course curriculum.
  • Conduct job and task analysis and task selection boards for each proponent course with appropriate agencies or training institutions.
  • Coordinate the review of course administrative data (CAD) and Programs of Instruction (POI) to identify resource requirement for the Structure Manning Decision Review (SMDR) and review of manpower processes for the OD School (ODS).
  • Update POIs as needed based on feedback from formal analysis, field reports, after action reviews, and training surveys administered by the DL2/QA for the ODS.
  • Develop and manage POIs for the ODS.
  • Develop lesson plans to include test design for the ODS, except those elements at Fort Sill, OK and Fort Eisenhower, GA.
  • Maintain TRAS source documentation and instructional publications and resource trade-off documentation.
  • Participate in the Ordnance School's Institutional Training Management Board.
  • Prepare input to contract strategies, statements of work and related documents for individual training products; ensure that contractor-developed materials are in compliance with the terms of the contract.
